This is a Wonderful Vintage Norfolk Island Pottery 3 1/2"H Vase with an Abstract Design artist Steve Ryves c1970-80s.  It is in Excellent Condition (No chips, nicks, hairlines, cracks or repairs)!  It is hand signed on the bottom: "Norfolk Island SSR".  Love this hand thrown piece and its Design, would work well in a Brutalist or Boho Decor!

"Steve And Alison Ryves own and operate the Cottage Pottery on Norfolk Island, producing high fired stoneware and porcelain. Steve is the potter and Alison paints and makes jewellery. Their work is exhibited in a gallery attached to the pottery. Work identified so far is marked Norfolk Island (impressed), alone or with SSR (impressed) or SSR (painted)."
"....He ordered a small kiln, and other materials, and began Norfolk Island Cottage Pottery in 1970.  He combined this with being a refrigeration mechanic but, after a few years, went into the pottery business full time."
