    Description

    SG 109 (var), the 1 shilling blue green small multiple watermark (Type 5); a well centered, lightly hinged copy with some gum toning penetrating into a few perforations.
    There were just 3 printings of this issue on 2 plates (Plates 3 & 4), both Die IIB. There were over 217,000,00 copies of the Die IIb issue initiated 1919.
    This however, more closely resembles a Die II, a consequence of plate repairs undertaken by Ash in 1927 and an ano
    maly not catalogued by Stanley Gibbons which values the more common SG 109 at £55 (ACSC # #33B, ). As such it is a far less common variation.
