Notable Features:
This bracelet was made in the vintage Mid Century style. Composed of 10k rose gold, the bracelet features many beautiful chocolate diamonds in the riviere style. The inclusion of such eye-catching design is an excellent example of the bold and creative styles that dominated jewelry making during the Mid Century era. This time period saw jewelers create jewelry using unusual or uncommon stones, as well as incorporating new designs and re-purposing those from the past to craft entirely new pieces of jewelry.
There are a total of one hundred and twenty rare chocolate diamond stones adorning this bracelet. These diamonds together measure an impressive 2.4 carats cumulatively. The bracelet contains ten chain links entirely adorned with these diamonds and with more chocolate diamonds in-between the links. The round-cut chocolate diamonds lining up perfectly together, creating these two sparkling rows. Each chocolate diamond showcases a beautiful light brown hue that complements beautifully with the vibrant tone of the rose gold borders. These stones are also semi-translucent, allowing light to filter through and illuminate their beautiful color while reflecting off their facets with brilliant sparkle.
Each diamond-adorned link connects to the next via a fancy 10k rose gold link. This bracelet style is often referred to as "riviere," so named due to its appearance evoking the image of a 'river of stones.' This bracelet is completed with a push-in tab clasp with two safety catches for secure wear. The generous use of 10k gold in the bracelet gives it an impressive item weight value of 9. A beautiful example of mid-century era design, this bracelet would make a valuable addition to any antique jewelry collection. Don't miss your chance to become a part of this bracelet's history.

The History
The Art Deco era is famous for being the "Gatsby" or "Roaring Twenties" era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. Jewelry from this period was most often crafted between 1920 and 1940. Art Deco jewelry sometimes featured white gold or platinum, geometric designs, European cut diamonds, filigree, and calibre cut stones that are specifically cut to fit the design of the piece. During the Art Deco period jewelers often made jewelry upon custom order, this would often take weeks to months to completely craft by hand.
The Mid-Century era, 1935 to 1965, encompassed many new styles of art and architecture and this carried over to jewelry making. This exciting time for jewelry saw movements such as Hollywood Regency, Modernism, Brutalism, and the Atomic Age. Native American artisans were also making their mark in the jewelry industry. Artisans used many kinds of metals, gemstones, glass, and experimented with ceramic and wood as well. This era was filled with new and innovative designs, while also rejuvenating and reinventing older styles. The unique jewelry which emerged from this era is still very popular today.
Riviere is a style where individually mounted gemstones and glass stones, are attached in rows or strands, creating a continuous and elegant design. Stones are often faceted and set in open back settings, allowing light to reflect throughout the stones. Riviere means “river” in French, and refers to the flowing style of this design, much like that of a river. This style gained popularity during the Georgian era and is still very fashionable today.
Diamond is derived from the Greek word, “adamas,” which means “unbreakable.” Diamonds are extremely rare, with the earliest diamonds being discovered in India around the 4th century BC and being traded along the Silk Road; the trade route between India and China. During the latter half of the 18th century, diamonds were discovered in South Africa. Diamonds are renowned for their strength and brilliance of color and ability to reflect and disperse light. This is what gives them such a brilliant sparkle. Colors range in blue, yellow, brown, green, purple, pink, orange, and red; the less color a diamond has, the higher its grade is. Diamonds range from 1 billion to 3.5 billion years old, and because of their age and qualities, have become the symbol for love across many cultures.
